Shared Campus 2024

Shared Campus - Common Ground; an evening exploring the complexities of extractivism and its impact on the people, places and cultures in and around Athens.

Young international artists came together from all corners of the world to immerse themselves in the environment of Thriasio Plain, to learn from the rural land and post-industrial environments, sharing insights and stories together with local communities.
Working in the industrial and agricultural areas of Aspropyrgos and Elefsina, they share their experiences and encounters through film, performance and storytelling. Attempting to unbind themselves from the extractivist logic that permeates our everyday, the artists explore, experiment and play to open up spaces of care, remediation and repair, building narratives that acknowledge the co-dependencies in which we exist.

This project is a collaboration between Shared Campus Critical Ecologies group, the Syn+ergasia Art Platform and the Cultural Centre of Aspropyrgos, hosted by [SIC] Space for International Cooperation.

Shared Campus is a collaborative platform for international educational formats and research networks created by 13 leading international universities, schools and art colleges.
